lyrics
THE INDIAN QUEEN //
Our tortured skin cracks like porcelain,
Where your horses run free, we’re shooting bullets at the sun
Gripping onto our guns, is everyone having fun?
I may be alone in my joy
I slew the dreamer, I took the head of the believer,
I collapsed the pillars, history’s most prolific killer,
The poison in the chambers and the ever present danger of annihilation.
I’ll be planting a flag on the hill,
Find me convulsing from the thrill,
The pleasure of the kill,
I’ll be dancing to destroy the world
The eye is a keyhole, through which the world pours in and a world spills out
The land of the landmines, the hell that’s on earth
THE NATION'S DAUGHTER //
We’re all just exchanging glances,
Trying to tell each other who we are, trying to catch a glimpse of ourselves,
Feeling around in the dark
I am the white dove, the little girl, the naive and sheltered, the kind child, torn between greed and peace
We can’t see the world for what it is worth
I am standing on the frontline, I am sitting in between the landmines
The Australian prog band channels the chaos of climate change into powerful songs that juxtapose beauty with unpredictable brutality. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 28, 2021
I don't know what it is, but in DWTD's discography this record really stands out to me. Picking a favourite track is difficult because all of the songs sound incredible to me, but POISON is probably the most fresh and energetic song in my opinion. zWarhead
